E-learning 1

Started a new unit at university entitled E-learning. Looking forward to getting back up to speed after some time away from this part of my professional development.

I have enjoyed watching the videos on VLEs, discussion boards, blogs and wikis. I have tried all of these tools in my classroom over the last 5 years but do not consider any of my attempts to be really successful. The videos have provided me with new ideas and I am keen to keep searching for improved ways to engage my students in their learning by making it authentic and meaningful.

Kevin Donnelly often writes a provocative column and this weekend's was no exception. It would be great to discuss this with Mark and students on Monday if there is a chance. I imagine he is a follower of Andrew Keen's blog (or writing).
