Learning Objectives

I have set three key learning objectives for the unit of work I am currently studying at CSU : investigating the use of technology to support struggling students, further developing the newly created role of 'technology coach' and creating a new working model for the teaching and learning of information literacies

A brief description of some early intiatives and links to screenshots follows.
One of the tools I am using to engage a group of struggling Year 6 maths students is a class blog which includes pictures, document library, useful links, how to movies I am creating using Camtasia and space for the boys to post questions and make comments. The early response has been positive

The Junior School curriculum site is a collaboration area in the portal for staff to share documents, see calendar events and just become more familiar working in a web-based application

Information Literacy is the future and our students will be well prepared for what lies ahead if we can nuture this skill set effectively before they graduate.

Yes, we know that the skill set is more important than knowing lots of stuff. But you would be in a better position than me to see that knowing lots of stuff still sees you make it to the next level of education - therefore we need to keep teaching it, often by traditional means which are time effective.
